1
Take your pictures with a digital camera. Even if you don't have a lot of professional photography experience, you can usually always get a nice clear crisp image with digital cameras. Also with most digital cameras, it lets you preview the picture as you take it too.
-
2
Upload your pictures to your computer. Your pictures can be stored on a memory card or on your camera as well. Upload your pictures to your computer by using your memory card reader or by using a USB cable.

Use photo software to crop your pictures and to change them from color to black and white. Some photo developing websites offer online tools to change your pictures as well. You can make them have a softer appearance, appear antique looking, change them to black and white, or even add borders.

Upload your pictures to photo developing websites that offer low printing costs. Websites such as Shutterfly, Snapfish, and Clark's. These websites also offer you to have pictures printed on gifts such as t shirts, mouse pads, or aprons. You can even turn some of them into puzzles. If you are wanting 8x10, 5x7, 3x5, or wallet sized pictures, you can also have your favorite photos printed to these sizes.
-
5
Order the smallest package of your photos if you do have them developed by a portrait studio. You can scan a copy of one of the photos and then upload them to a photo developing website or print them straight from your computer. This way you can save on the number of prints that you order.
