Almost everyone will get a psychic reading at some point and time in their lives. A common question that comes up is “how do I find the right psychic for me” or “how do I go about finding a good psychic?” There are many different factors that will affect how to go about finding the right psychic for you. These suggestions will make your task easier and more pleasant. A good reading requires that both the reader and the client be comfortable with each other, and that the client has an open mind.

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

There are many psychics who are available for readings in different areas, and in many different ways. First, you need to sit down and decide how you would like to facilitate your reading. Readings are available via online chat, telephone, via text over your phone, and also in person.

  2. Step 2

Next, get out your lap top and do a search for psychics on the internet. There are many good reputable readers who are available for readings. These can be at a set price for the whole reading, or on a per minute basis. Reputable readers will have a biography posted on the internet to let clients get a feel for how they read. They will also list the subjects, or life areas they specialize in to help you further narrow your search. I suggest finding at least three readers you feel good about or resonate with from their biography.

  3. Step 3

Look at the area the psychics specialize in. If you are looking for a mediumship reading, find readers who specialize in this area. Most readers will list the things they are experts in. This little bit of research saves a lot of time and frustration for both reader and client. There is nothing worse than to be contacted by a client to find lost objects if the reader does not perform the service.

  4. Step 4

Most internet sites, or phone services, will have listed ratings from clients who have received services from the psychic you are considering. Take time to read the reviews. It will give you a much better feel for how the psychic reads, and if you are going to be comfortable with the way that the psychic will work with you.

  5. Step 5

Word of mouth advertising is one of the best friends a good psychic has. Never be afraid to ask friends or family members for recommendations of readers they have used in the past.

  6. Step 6

A good reputable reader will usually offer a few free minutes at the start of the reading to make sure they can connect well with your energy, and are ready to answer the questions you have at the time. Take this time to get comfortable with the reader. If you don’t feel right, or something does not set well with you, please feel free to stop the reading at that time and search out another reader. This is a gift. Not every reader can read every client, and a good reader will let you know if a connection is not felt, or if she cannot help you at the time.

Tips & Warnings
  • Relax and enjoy the reading. Feel free to ask questions or to get clarification if you do not understand something. A good reader will take the time to answer and clarify things. They want you to have a good experience. If you cannot communicate with your reader, then your reading will not get you the results you want.
  • First, listen to your own instincts and gut when trying a new psychic reader. There are those who are less than reputable, just as there are bad apples in every profession. Being forewarned is forearmed. Some things to watch out for are if the reader discourages you from getting a reading with anyone else, or tells you only “they” can help you, offers to do spells, or make candles, and charges very large amounts of money to do so. Also, beware if they threaten you with curses or bad luck if you do not come back to them in a short amount of time. These are old scams. If you are aware of the things to avoid, you will be able to find a reader who is suitable to you and your reading will be an enjoyable experience.

by Terry and Linda Jamison, The Psychic Twins

(This is an updated version of the popular article that we published in FutureScope two years ago.)

We receive so many letters from those who have been badly burned by "psychic" con artists, that we felt compelled to write this. Let's face it, anyone can call him or herself a psychic, but what is their track record? It has become popular for mediums (those who receive messages from the deceased) to call themselves "psychic," claiming that they have the ability to predict future events, yet these people havenÕt a shred of evidence of being accurate with predictions. Here are ten tips to assist you in spotting a psychic fraud:

1. A fake psychic may tell you that you have a "curse," a dark cloud or negative energy that they need to clear (at a hefty additional price). This is a common trick that "gypsies" ...
