You can easily go to the closet organizing section of your home improvement store and purchase a free standing, portable closet. However, by using a little creativity and imagination you can make your own closet as big or small as you wish.

• plastic shoe boxes
• plastic stackable shelves
• 2 shelf brackets
• long shelf board
• swag curtain hooks
• shower curtain rod

How To Make Your Own Closet

1. Layout: On paper, sketch your ideas before you waste time and energy setting the closet space. Use a measuring tape to get the precise size that you would like.

2. Outline: Build the "outline" of you closet by using the plastic stackable drawers. Invest in the higher quality, durable drawers. If you do not have durable drawers, the weight of your clothes will break the plastic.

3. Closet rod: By adding a pre-made shelf above the closet area, purchase swag curtain hooks and secure with screws under the shelf. Place a shower curtain rod on the hooks to use for the clothes rod.

4. Shoe storage: Put your shoes into plastic shoe boxes. For larger shoes and boots, purchase the larger plastic boot boxes. Take a photo of the shoes and adhere the photo to box for easy shoe organization.

5. Extra storage: Purchase baskets to create quick organization on the shelves.
