Step 1
Find a file in your project that you would like to replace. Ideally, you are looking for a file that you have used in multiple instances throughout your project and would like to replace every single instance quickly and easily.

Right click the file you would like to replace and select "Replace footage with file." A pop-up window will appear.

Select the new file that you would like to replace the original file with. You can select any type of graphic file that is supported by Adobe After Effects.

Click "Open." The original file will now be replaced with your new file. All instances of the original file will be replaced.

Repeat this process for any other files you would like to replace. Remember, you can replace not only graphic files like JPEGs, but you can also replace an entire Photoshop (.psd) file. This command will work for any type of file in your project. That's it! You now know how to reload footage in Adobe After Effects with a single command!
