  1. Step 1

    The best thing you can do for your brain is to have a healthy heart.Much of our modern day diseases are caused by free radicals and oxidation in our bodies.In order to prevent the onset of these diseases, eating anti-oxidants on a daily basis is essential.Including fruits and vegetables in your daily diet is the best way to insure the intake ofanti-oxidants.

  2. Step 2

    Anti-Oxidants are primarily vitamins A, C, and E.Vitamin A can be found in orange colored fruits and vegetables.It can be found in oranges, cantalope, carrots, yams, leafy green vegetables, milk.

  3. Step 3

    Vitamin C can be found in citrus fruits like oranges and grapefruit. It is also in kiwi, guava, strawberries, potatoes, andsome cereals. Any of the berries, especially blueberries, help to insure a healthy brain.

  4. Step 4

    Vitamin E is in poultry, fish, vegetables and their oils, wheat germ, nuts and seeds.

  5. Step 5

    There are also benefits in spices. Turmeric, which can be found in curry, defends the brain from oxidation.You can add it to potato salad, stews, and any tomato based sauce.

  • Besides including fruits and vegetables to your diet, be sure to make sure you are getting enough good fats.
  • Omega-3 fatty acids are brain-friendly. It helps to prevent depression, ADD, and Alzheimer's Disease.
