How to Make Gluten Free Hamburger Buns
When you go gluten free, you learn to adapt and modify a wide range of eating habits. While hamburgers are gluten free (as long as you don't add gluten-containing additives to them), standard hamburger buns are not. Learn how to make gluten free hamburger buns that are a great complement to any burger.

- Gluten free bread dough
- 12 tuna fish cans, rinsed carefully or a hamburger bun baking dish
- Cooking oil spray
- Butter or butter substitute

How to Make Gluten Free Hamburger Buns

Spray the tuna fish cans or the hamburger baking pan with cooking spray.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Take any standard gluten free dough from a bread recipe or bread mix and place it in the tuna fish cans or hamburger bun pan, filling them halfway.

Get a spatula and run it under water. Use this to smooth the tops of the the dough in the cans or tin.

Let the dough rise for 15 minutes.

Place the cans or the hamburger bun baking pan in the oven and bake for 30 minutes.

After 30 minutes, brush the tops of the buns with melted butter or butter substitute.

Return the buns to the oven for 15 additional minutes.

Remove the buns from the oven and let them cool completely before removing them from the cans or the baking pan.

Place the buns in a large zippered bag overnight.

Cut the buns in half and use as needed.

Tips & Warnings
These buns freeze well once cut. Place a piece of waxed paper between the two halves.
Do not undercook the buns. They will come out gummy on the inside.
