Scrying is a form of divination that usually uses a focus object such as a mirror or crystal ball. The object you are using to scry must have no distractions and no reflections on its surface. Purchasing scrying devices can be expensive so one alternative is to make your own. Items created by your own hand can even increase the potency of the divination.

How to Make a Scrying Vessel

1. Purchasing a crystal ball is an option but not necessarily the best one. Real crystal balls are expensive and difficult to find. Make your own by using black enamel spray paint on the outside of a balloon-shaped wine glass or a rubber ball. It will need several coats.

2. Blow your own glass globe. If you have the materials and know-how blowing your own glass globe can be a good choice since it will be attuned to your creative nature.

3. Fill a crystal bowl with clear water. You can also use a clear glass bowl of water for scrying. Simply fill a clean glass bowl with clear water.

4. Paint a pane of glass with black enamel spray paint. Simply spray several coats of black enamel spray paint on the pane, making sure that there are no flaws on the surface.

How to Make a Scrying Mirror

1. Get a cheap picture frame and some black paper.

2. Take the frame apart and, using the pane as a pattern, cut the black paper to fit.

3. Place the paper behind the frame and secure the back again.

4. Secure the back. Once the frame is properly secured, polish the glass thoroughly with a soft cloth. The glass is now ready for scrying.

• Try painting balls of various sizes with the enamel paint to find the best fit for you.

• Be careful removing the glass from the frame.

• Use paint in well-ventilated areas.
