Turkey mignon is a lower fat, less expensive version of filet mignon. It is a piece of turkey breast that comes wrapped in turkey bacon. The best way to cook turkey mignon is on a grill. You can use either an outdoor grill or an electric contact grill.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Turkey mignon
  • Meat fork
  • Cajun spices
  • Barbecue sauce
  • Grill
  1. Step 1

Thaw your turkey breast if it is frozen.

  2. Step 2

    Remove the plastic wrapper.

  3. Step 3

Use a meat fork and pierce the meat all the way through several times. Try not to disturb the pin that holds the bacon around the meat.

  4. Step 4

Sprinkle Cajun spice liberally on the top and bottom of the meat. Rub it in.

  5. Step 5

Drizzle barbecue sauce on the top and bottom of the turkey, and place it in a resealable plastic container. Seal it and put it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes or overnight.

  6. Step 6

Heat an outdoor grill to medium heat, or a contact grill for about five minutes.

  7. Step 7

Place your marinated meat on the grill and cook tit for about six to eight minutes per side, or until the internal temperature is 185 degrees F.

Tips & Warnings
  • You may paint the meat with barbecue sauce while it is cooking.
  • Some turkey mignons have a plastic button that will pop out when the meat is done. Others have a metal pin that resembles a grenade pin-–children love to call these grenade steaks (it’s one way to get them to eat something new).
  • Be sure to turn off the grill when you are finished. If using a grill, make sure the coals have died out before leaving it unattended.
