Cleaning Granite Floors
Step1
Run a dry dust mop over granite floors often to pick up dirt that could scratch the floor surface.
Step2
Mop the floor routinely using one big squeeze of mild dish detergent in a bucket of hot water. Use a rag mop. Wring out most of the water each time you remove it from the bucket.
Step3
Set the mop onto the floor in corners and pull toward the center of the room. Use circular or "figure 8" motions across the rest of the floor.
Step4
Dump the bucket and rinse thoroughly. Rinse the mop until it is free of soapy water. Refill the bucket with clean, hot water.
Step5
Dip the mop in hot water and wring out. Wipe soapy water off the floor using sweeping motions with the mop. Rinse the mop often.
Step6
Run a dry rag mop over the floor to soak up any standing water. Allow the floor to dry completely before walking on it.
Cleaning Granite Countertop
Step1
Run hot water on a clean soft cloth. Add a squeeze of mild dish detergent. Squeeze some of the water out of the cloth, but leave it juicy.
Step2
Wipe spills and grease spots off the granite counter with warm soapy cloth.
Step3
Rinse the cloth thoroughly under hot running water. Add another small squeeze of dish detergent. Twist the cloth so it doesn’t drip.
Step4
Rub the cloth over the entire countertop with circular motions. Go over the spots again where there was dirt or grease.
Step5
Run hot water over the cloth until all the soap is rinsed out.
Step6
Wipe the granite counter with the moist hot cloth to remove all soapy residues. You may need to rinse the cloth under hot water several times to get the countertop squeaky clean.
Step7
Dry the countertop with paper towels or a dry soft clean cloth.
