Crest Whitestrips are a safe, easy and convenient way to a brighter smile. The strips contain the same active ingredient (hydrogen peroxide) that is used in professional tooth whitening systems. There are five different types of Crest Whitestrips and you can select the best system for your teeth. The strips are almost invisible, so you're able to actually wear them anytime of the day. Not only can these strips whiten your teeth, but they can remove stains and plaque too. If you want to use Crest Whitestrips, there are few things that you should know about the whitening process.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Consult your dentist before using Crest Whitestrips. You should visit your dentist for a complete dental evaluation before using any tooth whitening system (especially if you have multiple fillings or crowns).

  2. Step 2

Choose the appropriate whitening system that best suits your needs. Crest has five whitening systems and each one works in a different way. Your five choices includes Classic (provides whiter teeth for 12 months); Premium (whitens teeth for 12 months and provides two times more whitening than Classic); Premium Plus (whitens teeth for 18 months); Renewal (removes up to 20 years of stains from teeth); and the Daily Care (protects teeth from stains and removes surface stains).

  3. Step 3

Purchase the Crest whitening system of your choice. You can buy Crest Whitestrips at a variety of stores such as Wal-Mart, Target and local drugstores.

  4. Step 4

Read the directions before using the whitening strips. There are specific instructions on the back of the box that tells you how to use the strips and how many days you need to use them.

  5. Step 5

Apply the strips to your teeth. Remove the whitening strips from the box and peel off the backing. Securely apply the strip to your upper row of teeth and align the top of the strip with your gumline. Next, fold the remaining part of the strip behind the teeth. Repeat this same process for your bottom row of teeth. You must wear the strips on your upper and lower teeth for 30 minutes, twice a day (except for the daily care strips which are worn for 5 minutes).

Tips & Warnings
  • Be sure to wash your hands with soap and water after using the strips.
  • Contact your dentist if you have any severe irritation such as redness or swelling around your gums.
  • Do not swallow the whitening strips.
  • You should not sleep, eat, drink or smoke while wearing the strips.
  • Store the strips in a cool place (away from any heat), where children cannot reach them.
  • You may experience some temporary tooth sensitivity.
  • Avoid using the strips if you wear dental braces or dentures.
