Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Yarn
  • Knitting Needles
  1. Step 1

Cast on two or more stitches.

  2. Step 2

Hold the needle with the cast on stitches in your left hand and the empty knitting needle and the yarn in your right hand.

  3. Step 3

Slip the empty knitting needle through two of the cast on stitches at the same time. Your empty needle should slip through the cast on stitches from front to back.

  4. Step 4

Wrap the yarn around the right hand needle one time.

  5. Step 5

Slip the right hand needle under the stitches on the left hand needle from back to front.

  6. Step 6

You have successfully knitted two stitches together and 1 stitch will be on your right hand needle.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you already know how to do the knit stitch, then knit two together is very easy. It is the same as a knit stitch except that you put your right hand needle through 2 (rather than 1) stitch on the left hand needle.
  • Knit Two Together is usually abbreviated as K2tog in knitting patterns.
