How to Uninstall a CD Driver
Following these step-by-step instructions will allow you to uninstall the DVD/CD-ROM driver.

Double click on "My Computer." This will usually be on your desktop. If it is not, click once on the "Start" menu. Look for "My Computer" and click once on it.

Click once on "Local Disk," which is usually the one with the letter C next to it: Local Disk (C:).

Right click on "Local Disk," go to "Properties" and click once on it.

Click once on the “Hardware" tab in the “Properties" dialog box.

Click once on the drive that has “DVD/CD-ROM drives” under “Type.”

Click once on “Properties” at the bottom right of the “Hardware" tab.

Click on the “Driver" tab in the “Properties" dialog box. Then click “Uninstall.”

A warning will pop up letting you know that you are about to uninstall the device from your system. Click "OK" to uninstall the device or "Cancel" if you do not want to uninstall the DVD/CD-ROM driver.

Click "OK" to close each dialog box.
