Things You'll Need:
- Facial moisturizer
- Cotton balls
- Gel blush
-
Step 1
Gel blush should be the first cosmetic you put on in the morning (or night). Prior to applying gel blush, moisturize your clean, dry skin. After the lotion has absorbed, use your fingers to gently blend the gel blush into your skin as it dries. Give the cheek stain a few minutes to fade and see if another layer is necessary.
-
Step 2
If you are wearing additional makeup another layer of gel blush is going to be necessary. Again, using your fingers apply another thin layer. However, this time before the gel blush dries, blend it with your usual face moisturizer. This method will guarantee no streaking on the part of the gel blush, but you may notice pink stained fingers and need to blot off excess oil from your lotion.
-
Step 3
Of course, pink stained hands are not satisfactory. Wetting a cotton ball with water will shield your fingers. Squeeze or pour a small amount of gel blush on the wet cotton ball and use it to blend the gel blush according the abovementioned instructions.
-
Step 4
Gel blush is best applied to bare, moisturized skin and blended with more facial lotion for a natural glowing look. But everyone needs a little coverage sometimes so if under eye concealer is not the extent of your face makeup, you need to take a different approach, depending on the heaviness of your foundation.
-
Step 5
Should use of gel blush be necessary after the application of foundation, it is important to mix the tiniest bit of your makeup with the gel blush to ease blending of the two somewhat incompatible formulas. Also, if foundation is not absorbed evenly, the gel blush can cause a flaky looking effect on your skin.

on 11/7/2008 I've never worn blush because I have no idea how to do it and the few times I tried I got that "crazy grandma" look...lol I always admire it on people who know what they're doing, so maybe it's time to give it another try :-)
