Crossfit training is a growing trend on the workout circuit. Developed by its creator to fill a desired niche between the muscle head narcissist and the Ironman guy, Crossfit training is definitely not pretty and it will kick your butt, regardless of how good an athlete you are. Following is a light introduction to, and what to expect from, men’s Crossfit training.

  1. Step 1

    Understand Crossfit. The focus of Crossfit training is functional movement at high intensity, with constant variation of movement. You can expect the design of your Crossfit workout to include Olympic weightlifting movements, gymnastics and metabolic conditioning.

    Know the fitness level. Despite Crossfit training’s ruthless reputation, it is a workout for any fitness level. Trainers never change routines regardless of age, size or ability, but they adjust load and intensity. Crossfit training will deliver strength, stamina, balance, speed, power, coordination, endurance, agility, accuracy and flexibility.

    Track your routine. Traditionally, a Crossfit routine is tracked on a huge whiteboard, or dry erase board. Using your list of favorite exercises, make up a plan for every day of the week, without repeating a set list twice. These exercises need to move from one to the next with very little time in between.

Tips & Warnings
  • Crossfit is about working the entire body, so make sure to rest each body part for one day after working out.
