Trying to find time to exercise as a family can be difficult with everybody's busy and hectic schedules. With some family planning, and finding out what everybody's favorite activities are, you can plan an exercise routine that will be fun for the entire family. Get excited and show everyone how much fun it will be, and use the simple tips below to create a routine that will get all of the members in the family moving.
Gather your family together and plan on a schedule that agree with everybody for a workout. Decide if you would like to meet together all in the evenings, weekends, or early morning. Create a schedule on large poster-board and place it in your home where everybody can see the schedule.

Find out what kinds of routines the family would enjoy. Get a sheet of paper and write down each member of the family's favorite activity. For example, some may enjoy walking, while another would like biking. Create a schedule where different routines can be scheduled for each week. One day, the family could bicycle, and another could be spent walking.

Take time to let the small children run about in a public park or in a large backyard. Organize a small baseball or soccer game with them so that everybody gets a chance to move.

Plan a few nights a month to take the family rollerskating or to a local civic center. Everybody can enjoy some swim time, rollerskating, or getting in shape together in a gym.

Choose some of your favorite tunes for your family to dance to. Find an area in your home where everybody can do fun aerobics or dance. Plug in a radio and blast it in your backyard for some fun outside dancing too.

Don't push your family to exercise when you first start out. If the members of the family feel like it's a have to for exercising, they won't be interested. Be sure to do something fun that everybody in your family will enjoy. Start out by doing it once or twice a week, and gradually build up your routines.
