How to Map Audio Channel Clips in Adobe Premiere Pro
As you work with different aspects of audio editing in Premiere Pro, a more advanced feature is to map channels of audio tracks before you add a clip to a Timeline sequence. Mapping allows you to choose exactly which channel multichannel tracks go to, giving you greater controls over stereo or 5.1 surround. Mapping is done using the “Source Channel Mappings” command.
Instructions
-
-
1
Choose the audio clip from within the Project panel.
-
2
Go to the Clip menu at the top of your workspace, then select "Audio Options" and "Source Channel Mappings." The Source Channel Mappings pop-up box will open.
-
-
3
Map the audio to another track by selecting the format you want it to go to (mono, stereo, 5.1 and so forth).
-
4
Enable or disable specific channels once you have audio in new channels. To do so, select or deselect “Enable” for each source channel. When a clip is added to a sequence, only the enabled channels are added to the Timeline panel.
-
5
Map a source channel to a different output track or channel by dragging a track or channel icon from one source channel row to another source channel row. This will switch the channels for those two source channels.
-
6
Preview the channel with audio. Select it and then click the "Playback" button. Click on "OK" to apply the mapping to the audio.

Wrong. Someone took this information from the Adobe.help website and there is no such thing as clip > audio option > source channel mapping your idiot. Maybe someone should actually try this for themselves before they post it.
