How to Make Dice Cups
A dice cup should be made out of an 8 to 10-oz. cup without a handle. The key to making a good dice cup is finding a way to muffle the noise and keeping it simple. Customize your dice cup by covering it with material.

1
Choose a cup without handles, or remove the handles.
-
2
Measure a piece of corkboard to fit in the bottom of the cup. Put the cup on top of the board and draw an outline around it. Cut the corkboard just a little smaller than your initial circle.

-
3
Put a little rubber cement on the corkboard and fit it snugly into the bottom of your dice cup.
-
4
Select your material to cover the dice cup. Use cloth, rubber, vinyl or a plastic place mat. Measure and cut a rectangle out of the material you choose to fit around the outside of the dice cup.
-
5
Glue the material onto the outside of the cup, and let dry.
-
6
Muffle the sound of shaking dice with a piece of felt. Adhere it with glue inside the cup. Make sure to measure for a snug fit. Fill the cup with dice and get the game started.

Tips & Warnings
Spend some time looking for different materials for the outside of your dice cup. If available, recycle a larger piece of leather or suede from old clothes such as a coat, skirt or jacket.
Hemp woven place mats or any other material that is bendable works well to cover a dice cup. If you look hard enough you may even find a dice pattern.
