How to Know if a Guy Doesn't Like You

Finding Mr. Right is wonderful as long as he also considers you his Ms. Right. Evaluate the situation carefully before you devote your heart to a guy who doesn't think of you as more than a friend. There are some ways to confirm whether he likes you romantically; but if all else fails, it never hurts to ask.

Instructions

    • 1

Consider the amount of time he gives you. He may be trying to let you down easy if he claims to be too busy with school or work to call and see you, but then seems to have plenty of free time to go out with his friends.

    • 2

Look for not-so-subtle hints, like the fact that he asks you about your friend, glances around the room at other women or even flirts with the waitress. If he's just rude about the amount of attention he pays to other women, consider yourself lucky to find out about the tendency now.

    • 3

Replay your conversations to see if he repeatedly brings up topics and opinions that he knows you dislike. For example, if continues to sing the praises about a band, movie, political candidate or book that he knows you hate, he may be trying to turn you off completely.

    • 4

Notice the pattern of who typically makes the first move when you go out on dates. If you often pursue him, or if you have to leave several emails or messages before he calls you back, you may not be high on his priority list.

    • 5

Talk to his friends to see where he stands. The other guys will typically be blunt and let you know where what their friend is feeling. They may tell you point blank that you should move on, that he dislikes you, or that he's got his eye on another girl.
