Dress a formal dining room table with a tablecloth made of fine linen or lace from an online dealer, such as Heritage Lace (see Additional Resources). Layer tablecloths using a colored solid tablecloth under a lace tablecloth to achieve a different look for the table.

Coordinate dishes that you are going to use on the table with the tablecloth that you are buying. A busy china pattern will look better on a solid tablecloth while a more sedate stoneware dish can be set on a tablecloth with more of a design.
