If your hair is thick, it probably takes a long time to blow it dry. Not only is the job time consuming, but using a blow-dryer for an extended period of time can also dry out and damage your hair. Speed up the process by wrapping your hair in a thick absorbent towel after you wash it. Leave it wrapped for a few minutes before you blow-dry it.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Towel
  • Wide-tooth comb
  • Hair clips
  • Blow-dryer
  1. Step 1

Comb your hair with a wide-tooth comb. Then, use the comb to divide your hair into five sections. As you make each section, twist it up out of the way and secure it with a clip.

  2. Step 2

Section off the top of your hair from the crown of your head to the front. Next create a section on each side of your head from just behind your ears to the your face. Finally, divide the back of your hair into two sections. The back should be divided into layers, not in right and left sides.

  3. Step 3

Start blow drying the bottom layer of the back of your hair. Use a round brush while blow-drying. Take a section of your hair that is the width of the brush. Rotate the brush while you blow the hair dry.

  4. Step 4

Release the clip holding the top layer of the back of your hair and blow that section dry after the bottom layer is completely dry. Use the round brush while drying.

  5. Step 5

Move to one of the side sections after both of the back sections are dry. Release the clip from one of the sides and dry that portion of your hair, again using your round brush. When that side is done, go on to the other side of your head and dry it the same way.

  6. Step 6

Finish up by releasing the clip that is holding the top and front of your hair. Part your hair before blow drying if you typically wear your hair parted. Blow-dry and style the front of your hair using your brush.
