Rotate stock to keep the old stock moving out first and the fresh stock going out last. If you do not rotate stock, then older stock will expire and you must throw it away. This costs money to the person throwing away the items so, prevent waste with stock rotation.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate
Step1
Purchase fresh stock for your home. Determine where to store this stock.
Step2
Store perishable items such as milk, meat, cheese and frozen items in the refrigerator or freezer.
Step3
Open the refrigerator door. Remove the older product from the refrigerator temporarily and place it on the counter or table.
Step4
Place fresh milk, eggs, meat or other perishable foods in the back of the refrigerator. Now replace the foods you took out of the refrigerator in front of the older foods.
Step5
Look inside your freezer and rotate the stock by pulling out the old foods. Place the fresh foods on the bottom or in the back and replace the old foods on top or in front. Work quickly so the foods do not defrost.
Step6
Go to the pantry area. Take cereal, bread, flour, sugar and other food stock off the shelves and place them on the counter.
Step7
Rotate stock by putting the fresh foods in the pantry in the back and replace the older foods in front or on top of the older foods.

Tips & Warnings

  • Some people think it is fine not to rotate canned goods but this is not true. Always put your new canned goods to the back and replace older canned goods in front or on top of newer stock.
