How to Join AOL Chat Rooms

Chatting online in chat rooms in the social scene today replaces going to clubs like we did yesterday. Meet people online or hook up with existing friends, in AOL chat rooms. Talk about whatever interests you to people who share your interests.

Instructions

1. Download AOL software at aol.com so you can chat in AOL chat rooms. Choose the version of AOL you need and press "download now" (see Resources below).

2. Install the AOL software. When you get to the screen that prompts you to sign in, choose "existing member". Now press "sign on."

3. Sign on by entering your AOL screen name and password. Press "next" to get to the welcome screen.

4. Look at the top of the welcome screen. You will see many tabs such as "file", "edit", "mail" and "community." Click on "community" and look at the drop down choices.

5. Choose "chat rooms listings." The next screen will give the category of chat. Choose your category and then choose the exact name of the chat room you want to join from the list provided.

6. Click "go chat" which is located at the bottom of the screen after you choose your room. Begin chatting with the other users.

Tips & Warnings

• In order to chat in AOL chat rooms you must download the AOL software. If you do not want to download and install AOL software then you can still chat in AIM chat rooms. These are web-based chat rooms located at aim.com (see Resources below).
