Decide on Your Design

1. Decide on the outcome you want. There are many different options available to assist you in creating a tee shirt design. You can use your computer with Internet connection to custom design tee shirts from the many on-line selections (See Step 2), or you can create your own design on your computer that will print and can be used (See Step 3) or you can use various items to produce your very own personal design (See Step 4). Select the option you prefer or try them all.

2. Make your own tee shirt design on-line. See Resources below for a few good sites to use to make your own tee shirt design or do a search for others. These sites vary however basically work the same. You can choose from the selections offered or upload your own creations from your computer. You use the simple online wizards to generate your own tee shirt design and select colors, styles and more for both the tee shirt and the actual design. You get a chance to see the finished design before purchasing so you can make any adjustments needed. The prices and additional options fluctuate from the sites, but are plentiful.

3. Make your own tee shirt design on your computer. You can use on-line sites with special graphics software or you can purchase your own applications to use to make your tee shirt design. Do a search for “tee shirt design software” to get a complete listing of available applications. Select the one that will work best for you. These applications will assist you in designing your very own tee shirts. Print the designs from your printer (on specially made transfer paper), and use an iron to transfer them to your tee shirt. You will need to purchase all of these items or have them available to complete your creation.

4. Make your own tee shirt design in 3-D format. There are numerous specially made items to use to add “texture and dimension” to your tee shirt. Your local (or on-line) craft store has several items such as paints, ribbon, beads, sparkles and other objects that can be attached to a tee shirt with a paintbrush or special glue.
