Order the cheapest hookah charcoals from suppliers in China and Thailand. These natural wood charcoals are made from oak and other less exotic woods. The lower grade Thai and Chinese charcoals are inexpensive, but the quality is more than adequate to ignite easily and burn well.

I save my bits of charcoal when I'm finished with them (either just done smoking or they aren't producing enough smoke), the way I do it is with a glass and a tight fitting lid (any non-flammable container with a lid will work) and drop it in and close it up, the lack of oxygen quickly puts it out without using it up. P.S. Don't forget to put the lid on it, I forgot one time and had the glass explode when it got too hot. -

If I wanted to save the charcoal for later instead of using the full thing is this possible? If so how do I put it out without ruining it.
