Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
Step1
Open Microsoft Word 2003, and start a new, blank document or open an existing document from your files.
Step2
Select the "Tools" menu, and click "Options" to open the "Options" dialog box onto the Word screen. The "Options" dialog box contains all the detailed options that can be set to change how Word interacts with you.
Step3
Choose the "Save" tab at the top of the "Options" dialog box to display the options that are associated with saving in a Microsoft Word document.
Step4
Click the checkbox before the phrase "Allow background saves" in the "Save Options" section of the "Options" dialog box. This will remove the check from the checkbox so background saving will be turned off in Word.
Step5
Use the "OK" button to close the "Options" dialog box and return to your Word document. From now on, Microsoft Word will not background save any document in Word.
