As a teen, throwing parties is a great way for socializing, moving your way up on the "popularity ladder" and possibly earning some respect in your school. Some of the best ways to throw a large party are to invite as many people as you can, have plenty of food available and have it before mom and dad get home. Here are some tips.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • Lots of food and drinks
  • Hit music burned on a CD
  • Flyers and invitations
  • Place to have the party
Step1
Figure out when your parents will not be home. If they don't leave often, you might opt for having your party elsewhere.
Step2
Post and pass out flyers throughout your school, letting everybody know when the big party is. Send out invitations to all of your friends, and tell all of the well-known high school athletes and cheerleaders, too.
Step3
Gather all your closest friends to help you prepare your home for the big party. Buy plenty of food and drinks for everybody. Place covers on the couches to prevent spills, and hide any collectibles, antiques and trinkets so that they don't get broken.
Step4
Burn some popular music and the latest hit tunes onto a CD. Make sure that it is music that everybody will enjoy. You could also find a friend who is willing to volunteer as a DJ for your party.
Step5
Call up your friends and give them the signal that the party is ready once your parents have left. Dress into your best party clothes, turn up the volume and have all of your food and drinks ready. Don't turn the music up too high, or you risk having the local police being called for a noise disturbance.
Step6
Get caught throwing a wild party if your parents come home earlier than expected, and get ready to do some serious making up such as household chores, babysitting or cooking dinner.
Step7
Shoo all of your friends out of the home in enough time before your parents get home, so your party won't be revealed. Clean up any unnecessary mess, and play it cool. Be on your best behavior so your parents don't think that anything is up.

Tips & Warnings

  • Allow yourself enough time for cleanup and letting your guests leave if you don't want to get caught by your parents having a party.
  • Avoid alcohol at your party if you are under 21. You could get into serious trouble with the law. If you suspect party guests have brought alcohol, throw them out as soon as possible.
