How to tell your husband that you are pregnant

Share the news in a special way.

When you find out that you are pregnant, the first thing you will probably want to do is share the news with your husband. But rather than just scream "We're pregnant," why not find a fun, memorable way to tell your husband that you are pregnant?

Instructions

1. Take your husband out for dinner at his favorite restaurant. Arrange with the server or hostess to have something special brought to your table, such as the positive pregnancy test in a fancy box, a bottle of sparkling juice (explain that you don't want to drink in your condition) or a cake decorated with a message such as "Congratulations on Your Pregnancy!" Your husband may be puzzled at first, but when he looks at you and sees you beaming, he'll get the message.

2. Write "Honey, we're pregnant!" on the bathroom mirror with your finger. Run a steamy shower for him and make sure to be waiting when he steps out to see the foggy mirror.

3. Buy your husband a few new shirts. Make one of them a T-shirt that reads "Soon to be Word's Greatest Daddy."

4. Buy a car seat and install it in his car. Put a big note on it saying "Congratulations, Daddy!" Kiss him goodbye when he leaves for work and wait for him to come running back inside.

5. If you pack your husband's lunch for work, pack a lunchbox full of baby food and a bottle of milk. Add a note at the very bottom telling him in your own special way that you are pregnant, just in case he doesn't quite get the baby food hint.

6. Make a screensaver or a desktop background for your husband's computer that says "We're Pregnant!"

• When thinking of a creative way to tell your husband that you are pregnant, try to incorporate something that has meaning to each of you.

• If your pregnancy is unexpected and you are not sure how your husband will react, definitely tell him in private.
