Step 1
Send an e-mail or e-vite, or pass the word to friends at work that you're throwing a happy hour house party. Ask them each to bring a bottle of alcohol of their choice, whether it's wine, alcohol or beer.
-
Step 2
Head to the grocery store and pick up a variety of snacks that you would find at a happy hour. These items are usually finger foods like chips and dip, tortilla chips and salsa, chicken wings, miniature cheeseburgers (sliders), quesadillas, etc. If you can't find the items you're looking for at the grocery store and you're not in the mood to cook, pick up the prepared snacks at a local restaurant.
-
Step 3
Pick up plenty of cups, napkins, plastic plates, utensils and bags of ice while you're at the grocery store. Novelty plastic martini and wine glasses also are a cute addition for your party.
-
Step 4
Head to the liquor store and pick up a bottle of red wine, a bottle of white wine, a 12-pack of beer and bottles of alcohol to prepare a special drink such as rum punch or apple martinis. Make sure you pick up enough alcohol to serve your guests.
-
Step 5
As guests arrive, pop in a music mix CD, set up the food and drink table and have them place the alcohol that they brought on the table. Since this is a happy hour party, the party should begin right after work.
