Many people buy glue traps with the thought in mind that they do not wish to kill the rodent, they just want to rid themselves of it. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FREE THE ANIMAL WITH OBJECTS SUCH AS COAT HANGERS, PENS, ETC. This will only result in injuring the animal further, breaking bones, or possibly even amputation. Read on for the pain free way to free the critter.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Take the trap outside, away from your house, to an area safe to free the animal in.
Step2
Pour about half a cup of vegetable oil onto the glue trap (be careful if the animal is stuck by its head not to put so much as to drown it.)
Step3
The animal should now be able to free itself from the trap without much assistance. If you need to assist it in escaping, remember that it is very scared. Apply more vegetable oil as needed! Ta da!!! Your rodent is free...and hopefully smart enough not to come back!
