How to Catch a Raw Egg

An egg toss competition can be immensely fun for children and adults alike, whether it's at a BBQ or a summer camp. But the farther you toss the egg, the more skill it requires to catch it.

Instructions

    • 1

Start standing close to the person who is tossing the egg to you. Get comfortable catching the egg gently with one hand or two.

    • 2

Every time you successfully catch the egg, take a step back. As you get farther and farther away, you will need to be more gentle when you catch the egg.

    • 3

When the egg touches your hand, continue its momentum by moving your hand in the direction of the trajectory as you catch it. For example, if you catch it out in front of you, drop your hand toward you when the egg touches it so the egg is still moving and it doesn't come to a complete stop until you slow it down.

    • 4

Continue until the egg breaks. It will eventually break either from not being thrown far enough or the shell gets weak.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you get egg on your hands, be sure to wash it thoroughly to avoid food poisoning.
