When you think of massage, you probably think of the back. The back usually is a huge epicenter of stress, and there are several massages that can ease the pain.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Start with the shoulders. Wrap your hands around each shoulder and kneed them with your hands. Next, use your thumbs to gently probe knots and crevasses. Last, use the sides of your hands to tap the skin. You hands should kind of look like meat cleavers as you tap. Tapping increases the circulation in the back.

  2. Step 2

Next, move on to the area around the shoulder blades. Use the same techniques you used on the shoulders, paying special attention to the area around the spine.

  3. Step 3

Last, move to the lower back and repeat the techniques. The lower back can often be the most painful, so take extra care to find knots.

  4. Step 4

Finish the massage by running your fingertips from the shoulders down to the tail bone several times.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can use oil or lotion to make the massage more enjoyable.
  • Only use gentle, slow movements to avoid injuring the person you massage.
