Horror movie lovers are a special breed. They love to scream and jump, but a good laugh is just as appreciated. Every horror movie fan has inadvertently fallen upon a flick with some bad production value, but sitting back to enjoy a group of comically bad horror movies is simply a treat. Gather your friends around the big screen and plan for a horribly bad horror movie marathon they will be talking about for years to come. Read on to learn how to have a bad horror movie marathon.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Movie rental membership
  • Popcorn
  • Nachos and other movie treats
  1. Step 1

Begin the horror with the movie "Dead Alive" from1992. Interestingly enough, this film was directed by "Lord of the Rings" director Peter Jackson. This zombie movie is gruesome and gory, but laughably so. Enjoy.

  2. Step 2

Keep in mind that many film stars made their debut in horror movies and "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre:The Next Generation" has two big names for your enjoyment. Matthew McConaughey and Renee Zellweger will impress you with their frightening performances as a crazy guy and a high school girl. If you want to see more stars in horror flicks, don't miss Jennifer Aniston in "Leprechaun." Awesome.

  3. Step 3

Know that all zombie lovers will agree that "The Return of the Living Dead" is a classic bad flick. Comical in its zombie representation, these hungry creatures will have your chuckling with every gruesome nibble.

  4. Step 4

Understand that "Leprechaun in the Hood" tries to be cool and inclusive, but it is just wrong on so many levels. Double up on the popcorn and beer cause you'll need it to get through the rapping-evil imp and his reign of terror. Perfect for St. Patrick's Day of course, you'll also enjoy the acting talents of Coolio and Ice T.

  5. Step 5

End the marathon with some lighter fare in "They Live." This is a movie sci-fi classic really, which features a comical fight scene spoofed on "South Park," so you know it has to be good. Grab your sunglasses and really get into it.

Tips & Warnings
  • Expand on your theme by having people dress up as zombies or ax murderers and have especially gruesome food treats including cauliflower brains and lots of chunky red salsa.
  • Although funny, some of these movies are kind of gruesome, so prepare fellow viewers.
