To keep your nose ring looking lovely rather than crusty, it’s important to clean it on a regular basis. The best way to clean a nose ring is with a soothing cleanser and a delicate hand.

Things You'll Need

  • Nose ring
  • Soothing cleanser, like witch hazel
  • Cotton wipes, squares or rounds
  • Cotton swabs

Wash your hands and block the sink drain so the nose ring doesn’t go cascading down it.

Remove the nose ring and soak it in witch hazel for a few minutes to loosen any accumulation.

Clean the nose by swiping outside with witch hazel and inside with cotton swabs.

Gently wipe down the nose ring with witch hazel after the soak and rinse with water. You may want to use a small brush if necessary.

Put the nose ring back into nose. Maintain the cleanliness by swiping out the inside of your nose, with the ring still in it, on a regular basis.

Tips & Warnings

  • Cleaning out your nose is done most easily after a shower.
  • Rubbing alcohol, peroxide and other astringents can be very harsh on the inside of a nose. Don’t use them for this process.
