At your next Halloween get together, invite your guests to step up to the snack table and partake of some frightful finger food. All ghouls know there's nothing better to munch on than severed fingers in dip, with a bit of eyeballs on the side.

From Quick Guide: Halloween Food
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Several small carrots
  • Cream cheese, softened, or creamy peanut butter
  • Slivered almonds
  • Ranch dressing dip mix
  • Beet juice or ketchup (optional)
  1. Step 1

Peel the carrots with a vegetable peeler, and cut them into sticks about 4 inches long. Use a paring knife to round one end of each carrot stick so it looks like a fingertip. Shorten one thicker carrot, so it will look like a thumb.

  2. Step 2

Put a dab of softened cream cheese or peanut butter on the rounded tip, and stick on a slivered almond in the shape of a fingernail.

  3. Step 3

Prepare the ranch dressing dip as directed on the package, but use slightly less liquid so the dressing will be thick.

  4. Step 4

Spoon the ranch dressing in a small bowl, and put the bowl in the center of a serving tray or platter.

  5. Step 5

Stick four fingers, fingernails pointing up, into the cheesy ranch dressing. Stick the "thumb" carrot stick on one end.

  6. Step 6

Make more carrot fingers and arrange them on the platter or tray around the bowl of dressing and carrot fingers. If you want to add a big of "gore," dip each finger in a bit of beet juice or ketchup.

Tips & Warnings
  • Garnish the serving plate with a few green olive and pimento "eyeballs" for added creepy effect.
