Growing your hair long--especially waist length--takes a lot of commitment. Once you accomplish the goal of growing it out, you need to figure out how to style it to show off the length and beauty. Whether you wear it down or pile it up on your head, there are many options for styling waist length hair.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Keep your long hair clean, healthy and shiny. Condition it, trim it often and brush it gently every day to keep it looking its best. The best hairstyles start with healthy hair.

  2. Step 2

Use a volumizing moose at the roots and curl the ends of your hair with a large barreled curling iron. Separate the curls and wear your hair down. Curl extra pieces framing your face for an elegant everyday look.

  3. Step 3

Pull your hair back and secure it at the back of your neck with a hair band. Braid the long ponytail and wrap it around your head like a wreath, securing it with bobby pins. Pin the end of the braid under and add flowers or ribbons.

  4. Step 4

Make a high ponytail and secure it with a hair band. Twist your hair and wrap it around the ponytail, creating a large bun. Wrap a larger hair band around the bun and secure any stray pieces with bobby pins.

  5. Step 5

Use hair sticks, clips, ribbons and other clasps to put hair up. Be creative with the way you style your hair, choosing to put it up most days to keep it from being too damaged. Try low pigtails, long braids and high ponytails to keep it from becoming too tangled or unmanageable.
