Instructions

    • 1

Sand the outside of the plastic Easter eggs lightly with the fine-grit sand paper. The plastic will feel rough. Be careful not to sand to heavily or the egg may develop small holes.

    • 2

Mix 8 oz. of water-based acrylic varnish with 2 oz. of glow-in-the-dark powder in a large plastic cup. Repeat with several different colors to allow for variety. Let the eggs dry completely.

    • 3

Place the eggs under the black light for at least 10 minutes. Once the glow-in-the-dark paint has been activated, the glow can last for up to 15 hours. Hide the eggs throughout the yard and hold the egg hunt after dark.

Make the egg hunt more exciting by making it into a hidden treasure hunt. Each child chooses an egg color that they will be responsible for finding. The first clue to where the first egg is hidden is handed to the child along with a flashlight. Each consecutive egg contains a clue to the next egg. The final egg contains a hint to where the child's Easter basket is located.
