Glittery jeans are a trendy item that can cost quite a bit of money in a boutique. You can make your own glittery jeans for a fraction of the cost. In addition, you can recycle an old pair of jeans for the project if you prefer.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Newspaper
  • Jeans
  • Spray fabric adhesive
  • Fine glitter
  • Glitter paint pen (optional)
Step1
Choose the jeans you intend to make into glittery jeans. Remember that darker jeans reflect glitter more effectively. If you choose a new pair of jeans, wash them and dry them before you start this project.
Step2
Cover a table or flat workspace with newspapers. Do this in a well-ventilated space. Put some newspapers on the floor as well to make cleanup easier.
Step3
Lay the jeans face up on the newspapers. Make sure there are no wrinkles or folds. If you are not going to make the entire front side of the jeans glittery, use pieces of newspaper to cover the areas you wish to protect.
Step4
Lightly spray the jeans with the spray adhesive. Put some glitter in your hand. Lightly sprinkle the glitter evenly over the jeans. Be sure to get into the inseam and crotch area. Let the glitter dry.
Step5
Turn the jeans over and repeat Step 3 and 4 for the backside of the jeans. Let that side dry as well.
Step6
Take the jeans outside and shake the excess glitter off. Check for uncovered spots. Reapply glitter to the blank spots if necessary.
Step7
Add glitter highlights if you want with a glitter paint pen. You can draw on designs of your choice. Just remember to let the glue dry well before you wear the jeans.
