How to Send Shouts With Digg

Now that you are signed up for social bookmarking with Digg and have added some friends to your friends list, it's time to learn to send out 'shouts'. If you haven't done this yet, no worries, I have articles for you to cover that. See my resource section.

Shouts are a way of sending mini-chat messages to your friends on Digg. They are most often used to ask for diggs and for confirming that something was dugg for your friend.

This is a super valuable tool for increasing exposure and traffic to your website, blog, photo, video or articles.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• Free Digg Account

1. 

   While on the digg page of any specific submission, whether it be one you just submitted or one you have voted on. (your's or someone else's), you can send a shout to all your friends on Digg - all those who accept shouts that is. Some users choose not to receive them so don't feel bad when your shout to 100 friends really only goes out to 40 of them. This is normal.

   Click the 'share' button.

3. 

   A window will pop up like the one pictured here to the left.

4. 

   You can choose one, some or all of the people from this box. If you want to send the shout to all, click the button to the right as shown in the picture to the left.

5. 

   Now type up a quickie message in the message window asking for the digg or some little diddy about what you think of the page your shouting about. You can choose to leave this blank but it's my experience that those who take the time to write a quick note, get more diggs.

6. 

   Now click the 'Shout It' button.

7. A confirmation message will come up saying message was shouted. This message doesn't stay up very long. Do NOT re-shout the same message. Trust the system. If you pushed the button, it was shouted. Don't annoy your new friends.

8. Now keep an eye on the digg counter on your page. It won't be long and those numbers should rise.

9. Be sure and return the favor and digg your friends shouts. (if you like them, never digg something you absolutely do not like.)
