The human body is made up of 70 percent water. Water is the driving force for many of our bodily functions including digestion, circulation and excretion, among others. If we do not consume enough water, toxins build up in our bodies. Not only does water flush toxins from our body, but it also flushes it from our skin. For healthy skin, drink 8 to 10 glasses of water each day.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Remember that water in any form counts, but pure water is the best for the health of our bodies and skin. Coffee, tea, soft drinks and juices can be counted into your daily water intake, but make sure at least half of your 8 to 10 glasses are pure water. A glass is 8 ounces, so if you drink a 16 ounce soda that covers two servings. In addition to flushing toxins from skin, water keeps you skin hydrated to prevent drying and wrinkles.

  2. Step 2

Drink a glass of water as soon as you get up in the morning and before you go to bed each night. This helps to keep you hydrated while sleeping and re hydrates you after sleeping, it also ensures that two of your daily servings are covered.

  3. Step 3

Have a glass of water before each meal to help you to reach your daily goal. Drinking a glass of water before eating also helps to fill you up so you can eat less if you are trying to lose weight. Water before, or with your meals, allows greases and oils that you eat to pass out through your skin without clogging your pores.

  4. Step 4

Carry bottled water in your car. When you get thirsty drink a bottle of water instead of pulling through the drive through for a soda. Bring a bottle of water into work with you and sip on it throughout the day. Take advantage of every opportunity to hydrate your skin by drinking.

Tips & Warnings
  • Always drink plenty of water when you exercise. Drinking water replenishes the water you loose through sweating.
  • Drink water throughout the day before you are thirsty. Once you are feeling the signs of thirst, you are already dehydrated.
