Window tinting reduces the heat inside your car, reduces glare and UV exposure and provides increased security. Film tinting is applying a thin polymer film to specially prepared windows. This is the most popular after-market method for tinting car windows. The tint tool called the Conqueror, helps you get to those hard to reach areas on your car.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Shop online or at your local automotive supply store to buy a Conqueror. See Resources section.

  2. Step 2

Apply the tint to your car window, getting it as close to the edges as possible without going over.

  3. Step 3

Run the Conqueror over the surface of the tint. Press firmly on the tool to push out any excess water under the film.

  4. Step 4

Manipulate the Conqueror at different angles to reach the corners of the windows.

  5. Step 5

Use the Conqueror to get behind the moldings on your doors and windows. Slip the pointed edge beneath the molding to get out any air or water beneath the tint.

  6. Step 6

Put a paper towel over the edge of the Conqueror to increase the tension you put on the tint. The paper towel absorbs any excess water trapped under the tint.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you are only tinting the windows of one car, it is probably cheaper to have it done by professionals than to buy all the equipment and tools yourself.
  • Check your state regulations on tinted windows. Most states have regulations on how dark of a tint you can use on your car, especially on the front windows.
