How to Mount Snowboard Bindings

Every snowboarder should know how to mount his or her bindings in case the bindings come loose on the mountain. The process for mounting bindings is typically the same no matter which brand of board and bindings you use.

Instructions

    • 1

Set your bindings on your snowboard. If your stance is regular, the left binding is placed near the nose of the board. If you ride goofy, the right binding is near the nose.

    • 2

Align the bindings over the holes on the snowboard based on your stance and distance preferences. If you have never ridden a snowboard, use the center holes. You might need to adjust the distance and setback of the bindings depending on what's comfortable after you begin riding.

    • 3

Lay the center discs into the empty circles at the bottom of the bindings. The discs have angles on them. Zero degrees should point toward the edge of the snowboard. The screw holes should be perpendicular to the snowboard's edge.

    • 4

Adjust the stance of the bindings by keeping the center discs still and rotating the bindings. The angle markings tell you how to set your stance in the future.

    • 5

Strap your boots into the bindings and slide them back and forth until there is no overhang on either side of the board. Take your boots out of the bindings but make sure the bindings stay in position.

    • 6

Screw the bindings tightly onto the snowboard using the four holes, which should still be aligned.

Tips & Warnings

  • To determine your stance, stand with your feet side-by-side. Take a step forward. The foot you step with will likely be the foot you're most comfortable leading with on your snowboard.
