How to Get People to Hang Out
Making friends comes easily for some people but you might not be one of them. You meet people and are cordial, but it is difficult to take the relationship past the "friendly acquaintance" level. Learn to make real friends and get people to hang out with you.

Plan an event. If you want people to hang out with you, have a reason to get together. Organize a dinner party, a birthday celebration or even a community service project for a worthy cause. Find people with similar interests who are interested in what you plan. Make all of the proper arrangements for food and entertainment and get the word out.

Honor invitations. If people invite you to functions, attend them whenever possible. If you want people to hang out with you, make yourself socially available. The more you put yourself out there, the more social opportunities you create for yourself. Show up at other people's functions and they are likely to return the favor.

Stay on top of local events. If you want people to hang out with you, know what is going on in your community. Have tickets to the hottest concert in town or seats for your local hockey game on Friday nights. Keep busy and active in community events and always have a few extra tickets on hand.

Make your place more inviting. Have plenty to do at your pad. Invest in a pool table, a set of darts or even a hot tub if you have the money. If you want people to hang out with you, make your home the "hot spot" by having lots of things to do.

Be the person that everybody wants to be around. Get people to hang out with you by being very likable. Be flexible and open-minded. Have tolerance for others' flaws. Know how to take a joke and learn to laugh at yourself. Remove the focus from yourself and show interest in others. Contribute to conversations and stay present. People notice and find it appealing.
