Instructions

    • 1

Work carefully with a craft knife and cut along both sides of the stitching on the baseball. Go slowly and make deep cuts.

    • 2

Use the knife to lift the stitching away from the baseball after all the cuts have been made around the seam stitching. Pull the row of stitching up and away from the core of the baseball in one continuous piece.

    • 3

Place the stitching in a basin of water and let it soak. Wait an hour and remove the stitching. Find the place where the stitching starts. Make a cut with scissors there to separate the ends of the seam.

    • 4

Manipulate the length of the seam to work it into a single, flat piece. Soak the piece again to make it more pliable. Continue to work the seam, twisting it to roll it into the shape of the necklace.

    • 5

Remove a stitch at either end of the length of the seam to reveal two small holes. Connect the lobster clasp through the holes at one end. Connect the ring through the holes at the other end. Fasten the necklace using the lobster clasp and ring.

    • 6

Shape the necklace after wearing should it become damp. Store it flat.

Tips & Warnings

  • Shorten the length of the seam strip and make a bracelet.
