Things You'll Need:
- Perm kit of your choice
- Comb and brush
- Big towel to dry hair
- Blow dryer
- Rollers to style hair if you choose to
-
Step 1
Put your gloves on that will come inside the perm kit. You need to part your hair into sections and grease the entire head with vaseline. Then you will open the perm kit and lay everything out on the table. Take the bottle that says mix with the perm cream in a jar and mix the two together until it is smooth.
-
Step 2
Part your hair into four sections. You will complete one sections at a time. Put the perm on the tip of your fingers and apply it to the root of your hair smoothing it into your hair and pulling it apart piece by piece. You will do all four sections like that. Do not bring the perm out to the end of your hair only put it on the scalp or root.
-
Step 3
The perm kit will tell you how many minutes you should keep the perm on your hair, do exactly what it says. After that you will shampoo and wash your hair in warm water until you see no more pink suds in the sink. You might have to wash your hair 3 or more times. Put conditioner on your hair and sit under the dryer (if you have one) for 15 minutes. Wash the conditioner out, blow dry and style.

on 4/4/2009 Perming already permed hair will only damage it. If you are tempted to scratch, the vaseline is a base to protect your scalp in such a case, yet if you want to be on the safe side waiting one or two days is efficient enough.
