How to Move a Chart in Excel
After you have created a chart in Microsoft Excel 2007, it will be placed in the middle of the workbook you used to create it. You will most likely want to move this chart to another location in your workbook. Find out how you can move a chart in Excel in just a few seconds by following the steps below.

Start Microsoft Excel 2007 and open a workbook from your files that contains a chart that needs to be moved or create a chart from data from an existing workbook.

Select the chart you would like to move by clicking on it with your mouse. The chart will be surrounded by a light blue outline when it is selected.

Hover your mouse over a blank area in the chart. You mouse will change into a four-headed arrow meaning that you can move the chart.

Click with your mouse in the blank area and drag the chart to the new location where you would like the chart to reside.

Release the mouse button to place the chart into the chosen location.

Tips & Warnings
When moving a chart, make sure you click and drag on a blank area of the chart so the whole chart will be moved instead of individual components of the chart.
Do not click on the corners or edges of chart when trying to move a chart, this will resize the chart without moving it.
