How to Install Packages in Ubuntu

Ubuntu is a free Linux-based operating system. Ubuntu packages store all of the information you need to run specific programs. You can install both source and binary packages on Ubuntu. You can also download Ubuntu package managers that can download and install of packages for you on your computer.

Instructions

1. Choose the "Applications" button and then click "Add/Remove."

2. Find the package or packages you want to install. Use the "Search" button or browse the categories on the left side of the window if you need to.

3. Click the box next to the icon of the package you want to install, then hit "Apply."

4. Hit "Apply" again when the prompt pops up.

5. Enter your password. When the package is done installing, hit "Close."
