The public was amazed at how quickly actress Kate Hudson got back into shape and lost her pregnancy weight after giving birth to a son. Hudson worked hard with her trainer Garrett Warren and watched her caloric intake to quickly slim down to her pre-pregnancy size. Here is how you can train like Kate Hudson.

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Yoga class or DVD
  • Pilates class or DVD
  • Dance classes
  1. Step 1

Watch those calories. When Hudson is in training to lose weight or to tone up for a movie role, she doesn't go on a specific diet, she simply limits her caloric intake to around 1,500 calories a day and cuts down on carbohydrates, such as bread and pastas, and increases her intake of lean protein, such as fish and chicken.

  2. Step 2

Lose weight by training like Kate Hudson. The actress claims she gained 60 pounds when she was pregnant with her son, Ryder. To lose the weight, she worked out for three to four hours a day. This workout included one hour of cardio, one hour of either Pilates or Hatha yoga and 30 minutes to an hour running on the treadmill.

  3. Step 3

Train to firm up and slim down. With her pregnancy weight gone, Hudson continues training heavily with 90 minutes of kickboxing, 15 minutes of ProBodx (Pro Body Exercise) and Pilates, weight training and Hatha yoga.

  4. Step 4

Take dance classes. Kate takes regular dance classes to stay in shape and keep her workout routine from getting boring. Try a hip-hop, jazz or modern dance class to burn calories. She also has taken classes in Sheila Kelley's striptease workout S-Factor (without actually stripping, of course).

Tips & Warnings
  • Check with your doctor before you begin training like Kate Hudson. Working out for three to four hours a day while only consuming 1,500 calories can get dangerous and lead to injury. Always check with your doctor first to get the caloric needs specific to your body.
