How to Delete the Cache on an Xbox 360
If your Xbox 360 is running slow or acting strangely, delete the cache to get rid of your internet gaming history. Delete the cache to elimate unwanted game uptdates. Remember when you delete, you lose all downoaded game updates and you need to re-install any you use.

Hold the "A" button while turning the Xbox 360 console on.

Get into the system menu and select "Memory" from the options.

Select the hard drive, and press "Y" to get the device options screen to appear. See a "Rename" and "Delete" options, but don't choose either.

Press the following code in: "X, X, left bumper, right bumper, X and X"

View a message that your Xbox 360 has performed system maintenance. Select "Yes" to confirm you want to delet the cache.

Game saves, profiles, maps videos and other saved items from your Xbox 360 games are not lost when you delete the cache.
When you are having problems with games freezing or not being recognized, delete the cache to resolve the problem.
The cache contains all downloaded game updates from Xbox 360 Live. If you have downloaded any updates you wish to continue using, you'll need to re-install them by downloading again.
Deleting the cache could cause problems with your Xbox 360 console or even make it inoperable. It is not recommended as a last resort, and not to be used by the novice user.
