Instructions

    • 1

Find a comfortable spot in front of the mirror. This may take several sessions of several hours of practice so make sure you are comfortable.

    • 2

Tape your eyebrow so that it is in the raised position. Start with the eyebrow that correlates to your dominant hand. This is because you usually have better control over the dominant side of your body.

    • 3

Isolate the muscles that are responsible for keeping the eyebrow up. Do this by tracing your finger along the raised eyebrow and feel which muscles are in use. They will feel taut.

    • 4

Remove the tape from your eyebrow.

    • 5

Focus on raising your eyebrow by using the muscles that you discovered were responsible for it.

    • 6

Practice until you can not only raise that eyebrow, but hold it in that position indefinitely.

    • 7

Repeat with the other eyebrow. Now that you can lift one eyebrow, learn to lift the other. It will give you much more range when it comes to expressing yourself.

Tips & Warnings

  • Practice moving other parts of your face, such as curling your lip or furrowing your brow. This will help when you create characters or impersonations.

  • If the adhesive on the tape irritates your skin, you can merely hold the eyebrow in place with one of your hands.
