It can be a frustrating experience for computer users to lose the toolbars and navigation bars they depend on to surf the Internet. Whether you're on an unfamiliar computer or they were hidden by accident, here are some easy ways to restore them.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Using Internet Explorer 7

Step1
Open Internet Explorer.
Step2
Click on the "Tools" icon, on the far right side of the screen, to the right of all of the browser tabs. Look for the icon that looks like a gear.
Step3
Choose "Toolbars" on the drop down menu. Click to put a check mark in the box next to any of the toolbars you want to get back, including the status bar or the links.
Step4
Get the menu bar to show up by clicking on "Tools" and then "Menu Bar." Once the menu bar is showing, you could also choose "View" on the menu bar, and then "Toolbars" to get to the same toolbar list.
Step5
Move your cursor into the free space to the right of the tabs, and alternately right click the mouse. Click on the toolbars you want to show.

Using Firefox

Step1
Open Firefox.
Step2
Click on "View" on the menu bar.
Step3
Choose "Toolbars" from the dropdown list. Select the toolbars you want to show, including the navigation bar. There will be a checkmark next to the ones that will show.
Step4
Save time and steps by right clicking on any free space on the menu bar or a toolbar. The same list of toolbars appears. Click on the ones you want to show.

Tips & Warnings
